It was the perfect, California evening - sunset (the golden hour), not hot, but not cold. The space was set for family and friends to come together and celebrate with each other.
A few weeks prior, we met to plan the celebration. Quickly, we were dreaming of warm woods, gilded gold touches, elegant charm, and lush greenery. Lots and lots of lush greenery. The venue that was chosen, Elizabeth Gamble Gardens, in Palo Alto CA, was the perfect spot - gorgeous historic buildings, rose beds, and walking paths would surround the dining space.
Custom made, gorgeous hand calligraphy invites and place cards set the tone impeccably.
The fresh eucalyptus and wildflowers, hand arranged to feel organic and free, touched every part of the space. Farm tables, x-back chairs, and crisp white linens were the perfect pieces for the night.
Guests arrived, shared a glass of wine and stories about the couple. Dinner was served, cornhole was played, and laughs were shared. At the end of the evening, the treat table, adorned with "The Best is Yet to Come" was enjoyed, and guests were sent home with custom made champagne bottle favors to remember the evening. Cheers!

Getting the girls together for a lovely sunset Garden party is such a fun way to catch up, enjoy the weather, and of course, a little bubbly. (Both water and wine!)
This party was easily pulled together with a quick color scheme: greens, aquas, and white. The table runner, and its bright green stripes added a pop of color and classic style. The gorgeous salad plates were the perfect accent pattern. (Florals, Paisley and Stripes always work together!) Simple glass wear, linen napkins, and grey vases finished the look.
Grey vases, with simple florals create a casual garden feel. The modern tea-light holders add the perfect contemporary touch.
Finally, each lovely lady was given a sweet thank you gift of a green tea cup with gold accents, and a personalized card. Such a sweet and thoughtful detail!

If you had a garden party with your favorite girls, what details would you be sure to include? Comment below and tell your friends, and maybe schedule a little get together to celebrate each other soon!
First, let me just say that housewarming parties are possibly my favorite parties to attend. I realize that seems a little random, however, being that my passion is home decor, it does make a little sense! I feel like it's my chance to bring joy and love into people's new homes in a small way. Our home is where life happens, and being welcomed to someone's is an honor!
I don't think it is necessary to bring a gift, and many people don't request them of course. I on the other hand, think it's a really nice way to give something small to add the their new home's character. I love giving plants, and flowers, but always fear that those may not survive... so I created a list of my favorite types of smaller items to give. I hope this gives some inspiration, and shows that you don't have to spend a fortune either, to show some love!
1: These adorable tea-towels from Paper Source are a great pattern that mixes vintage and modern. Plus, over time, everyone will need more kitchen towels!
2: For a little fun, these CB2 bookends are perfect. They are stylish, without being too serious. (I have them in my house, and they are always a conversation starter!)
3. This industrial, high function, but very stylish bottle opener from Paper Source will win everyone over!
4. This vase is my favorite, and it's been haunting me at Target for weeks. (I should really just buy it right!?) It's modern, but classic too, to fit with everyone's style. It can sit out all the time, or be used for flower arrangements. (Bonus points if you bring flowers in the vase!)
5. This is my absolute personal favorite on the list. This board from Crate and Barrel is gorgeous enough to sit on the counter all the time, but also is lovely for serving. The wood/marble combination is so smart and warms this designer's heart!
6. A little something for indoors or out, this Target lantern screams Sonoma chic - again a good mix of rustic and modern lines, which wins every time. (I'm seeing a theme here!)
7. This adorable little CB2 rose gold tea-light holder is so chic and simple. Rose gold is a bit more unexpected, but works in any space. The price point is so great - grab three and you're set!
I hope this list of my favorite items helps you on your next shopping trip - or inspires you to add a little extra style to your own space too! What is your favorite item to bring to a housewarming party? Or... what is the best thing you received at your own party?
At the beginning of April, I had the pleasure to attend The Bloom Workshop in Los Gatos. It was a day filled with inspiration, creativity and so much learning! The ladies behind the workshop Michaela Warner and Ashley Slater, curated a perfect event with a really fun energy, great tips, and gorgeous design. It was held at the picturesque Regale Winery in the Los Gatos Hills. I met 35+ women who ranged from professional photographers to planners to jewelry designers. What a perk!
I also dusted off the DSLR and re-learned how to use her. I'll warn you, these images are not edited... I'm still working that out! I just couldn't wait to share them and share my love for this workshop!
Enjoy, and if ever interested, I highly recommend attending a workshop like this - it will have you rethinking your business, and may even change your life a little. (It did mine!) If you WERE to ever attend one of these, what would you hope to learn or walk-away with after the day?
Friends... I'm back! I've taken quite the break from blogging for the past *however long it's actually been* few months. I won't get into to gritty details as to why I stepped away. The important thing is that I'm feeling inspired, energized and creative again! - so here I am!
You'll notice Styled With Life looks a little different too... that's no coincidence! Don't be surprised if it changes a few more times in the next few months. Workin' out some kinks!
You'll also start to notice a more consistent blogging schedule from me going forward. We're talking at least 3 times a week here folks.
Also, my focus will be shifting a bit, although don't hold me to that - us creative types know how much that darn focus thing can change. But thanks to a recent creative workshop I attended, (more on that in a later post) I've learned where my true passion is and where I want to take this blog. I hope you'll all be as excited as I am moving forward!
So, what's not changing you may ask? Well, I'm still me so my words and ideas are all still mine. I still want to hear from you often and will engage and chat with all of you as often as well! You'll still see decor, fashion, and all things stylish here.
Thank you to everyone who revisits, and thank you in advance to any new readers - I can't wait to talk to you all and keep you Styled With Life.
